Stainless steel cookware is a favorite for nearly all households and cooks. They know the kind of benefits that they reap from using them. Personally, I love using cookware made of stainless steel. I find cooking fun and so I mostly prefer to prepare my own meals at home. And over the years I have learnt a few tricks of how to take care of my stainless steel cookware so that they last longer and provide me with their unparalleled services.   1. Stacking pots or pans together. Avoid doing this completely. Stacking your cookware on each other can cause them to scratch against each other thus damaging them. If you must do it, then make sure there is a paper towel between the cookware. You can also use cloth instead of paper towels.
  2. Always ensure you heat the pan until it is hot enough before adding the oil or food. This is to prevent them from sticking on to the pan.
  3. When cleaning stainless steel, do not use steel wool. It corrodes the coating and this can expose it to risks of rusting. Most cookware will come with instructions from the manufacturer on how to clean them. Read them and follow them keenly.
  4. Water contains minerals such as calcium which can form white spots on your stainless steel. Use metal cleaners to remove them. Or you can simply boil a mixture of vinegar and water in the cookware to remove them.
  5. Whenever you buy new cookware, make sure that you clean it using soap and warm water. And always rinse them thoroughly and dry them once you are done.
  6. When using cooking utensils on cookware made of stainless steel, it would be best to use those made of wood or plastic. Sharp, metallic utensils such as forks or knives will only scratch and dent your cookware and this is a problem that cannot be reversed ever.
  7. Finally, most people have this habit of pouring cold water over their cookware to cool them quickly. This only harms it because of the quick contraction on cooling. Give it time and let it cool on its own before you soak it in water.

Those are the basics when it comes to giving your stainless steel good care and establishing an excellent relationship with it. Remember that the better you take care of it, the better it will serve you and last. If you adhere to those tips above, everything should work out just fine.

My First Hands On Recipe

If you’ve read my bio, you would know that I love cooking as much as playing sniper games. Let me take you down my memory lane to the first recipe my mother ever taught me. Since I was a 7 year old child, my mother had given easier tasks that involve stirring and sprinkling. It was her signature Chicken Club Pasta Salad which is still my favorite.

How Do You Make It ?

Basically my mom would boil the pasta, fry crispy chicken breast and bacon (chop them afterwards), chopped three cups of celery, green bell pepper, cherry tomatoes and two avocado (peeled, remove the seed and chopped). My job would be mixing Italian-style dressing together with the mayonnaise in a bowl while she is chopping.

Signature Secrets

After the pasta had reached room temperature, pour it in the bowl together with the chopped ingredients. Keep stirring until everything is coated. Lastly sprinkle a hefty amount of mozzarella cheese and it’s done! Please keep in mind that my mom cooked for six working men and a growing boy so if you’re cooking for a smaller group, only use a cup of chopped ingredients and one avocado.
